The three days of confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court came down to just a handful of utterances, most notably the one about “empathy.”
President Obama is meeting with Louis Gates and James Crowley about Gates’ recent arrest in Cambridge, Massachusetts and the ensuing controversy. Today, Chris Hardie’s blog examines what may be behind Obama’s decision to meet with them.
